The Hallmark Channel's "William & Kate: A Royal Love Story" starts production next month and is scheduled to air on August 13.
Reviews are, er, mixed for the TV movie William & Kate:
Prince William and Kate Middleton are included on TIME Magazine’s 2011 list of the most influential people in the world.
A few hours ago I watched Lifetime's TV movie "William & Kate," which is about the romance of Prince William and his bride-to-be, Kate Middleton. Did I like it? Well, see if you can guess. Here are some of the comments I made on Twitter while the movie was in progress.
In this movie, all Prince William's friends call him "Wills" -- ha
Why am I watching this movie....
Actress playing Kate is doing a good job seeming natural while people talk stiltedly around her
Kate's wearing her famous white coat!
Slap her, Kate!
I think I've been watching too many telenovelas.
Sorry, William, but Kate is right
Grr I admit it... I am starting to enjoy this movie
Wait, did this really happen? [Prince William apologizes to Kate by singing to her in public]
OK not good enough, now I also want to see Prince William tap dance for her
Like they'd really have that conversation in front of reporters
Slap her, Kate!
I would not make a good Kate Middleton
Ah I was hoping he would win her back by landing the helicopter in her yard
As you can probably tell, I didn't take this movie seriously, but was eventually entertained by its sympathetic portrait of Catherine Middleton's trials as the "common" girlfriend of Britain's future king. (And no, Movie Kate didn't slap anybody -- she was too nice for that.)
To sum up:
Lifetime's William and Kate movie: If you think you'd enjoy it, you will. If you think you'd hate it, you will. I enjoyed #williamandkate
Did you see the movie? If so, did you like it? If you didn't see it but wish you could, it will eventually be out on DVD.

OK, I’ve got to admit it — I think the movie looks like fun. (Sorry!) Lifetime isn’t wasting much time getting it out on DVD — according to Amazon.com, it will be released in August, and it’s already available for preorder.
