Prince William and Kate Middleton wouldn’t exactly be living in a palace “if they depended solely on their salaries.”

Poor, shy, sweet Diana? Don’t make me laugh

Vandals destroy Holy Thorn tree in Glastonbury

MARCH 2011 UPDATE: The Daily Mail reports that "Glastonbury’s Holy Thorn tree began to show new buds this week."

Here comes April, and with it Prince William’s long-awaited marriage to Catherine Middleton! New books about William and Kate continue to roll off the presses, but publishers are also offering new books on other royal topics next month, believe it or not. Here’s a sneak peek:

Kate Style: Chic and Classic Look by Alisande Healy Orme. Illustrated guide to Kate Middleton’s elegant fashion choices.

Kate & Wills: Up the Aisle by Alison Jackson. Spoof photos of Prince William and Kate Middleton (portrayed by models), including their courtship and wedding. (Irreverent humor.)

Kate & William: A Very Public Love Story by Rich Johnston, art by Mike Collins, Gary Erskine, and Owen Jollands. Contains two stories: William Windsor: A Very Public Prince and Kate Middleton: A Very Private Princess, both in comic book form. Available from Alibris.

Behind Closed Doors: The Tragic, Untold Story of the Duchess of Windsor by Hugo Vickers. According to the author, the Duchess of Windsor was a victim of exploitation after the death of her husband.

Young Henry: The Rise of Henry VIII by Robert Hutchinson. Describes the magnificence and tragedies of the young king’s court.

The Tudors: The Kings and Queens of England’s Golden Age by Jane Bingham. Explores the shocking Tudor age, when the splendor of court life contrasted with the harsh treatment meted out to traitors.

To Be Queen by Christy English. Fictional account of the early life of Eleanor of Aquitaine, who married first the king of France, then the king of England.

As always, publication dates are subject to change. For the full list of new royalty books, visit the Royalty.nu Royal Books page on April 1.

If I could only read one of the above books, it would be “Kate Style.” Why? Because I’m in the mood to read something light-hearted, and a book about a fashionable royal bride should be plenty of fun. What about you — which book would you choose?
