Cleopatra: A Biography by Duane W. Roller. Cleopatra’s goal was always the preservation of her kingdom. Even her love affairs were carefully crafted state policies. This is the first account based solely on primary materials from the Greco-Roman period, including Cleopatra’s own writings.
Terrible Exile: The Last Days of Napoleon on St Helena by Brian Unwin. The most powerful man of his age, Napoleon spent the end of his life in captivity. How did he react to exile?
The Queen’s Pawn by Christy English. At age nine, Princess Alais of France is sent to live in England. As Alais grows up, Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine begins to see her as a threat, and their love for each other is overshadowed by rivalry.
No Will But His: A Novel of Kathryn Howard by Sarah A. Hoyt. Katherine Howard knows the danger of being the wife of Henry VIII. She must tell many lies to gain the throne.
Secrets of the Tudor Court by D.L. Bogdan. Novel about Mary Howard, wife of Henry Fitzroy, illegitimate son of England’s King Henry VIII.
